New Year 2027: celebrate on the dance floor at a kizomba festival

On 31 December, some dancers would rather be on a dance floor than at a dinner that never ends. Good news: the switch to 2027 will be celebrated at several kizomba, urban kiz, semba and tarraxo festivals, in France and elsewhere in Europe. Four or five days of workshops by day, parties by night, and a countdown in the middle of a room full of dancers.

Why spend New Year's Eve at a festival
A New Year festival is more than a party on the 31st. It is a full stay, often in a single venue, with several nights of dancing before and after midnight.
- Nothing to organise: dinner, music and the party are taken care of.
- Coming alone is easy: at a festival people ask and get asked, nobody stays on the side of the floor.
- You start the year by improving: workshops on 1 and 2 January are often quieter, perfect to work with the artists.
- You go home with contacts all over Europe, for your next festivals.
In France
Paris Kizomba Semba NYE (Roissy-en-France, 30 December to 3 January)
The Paris New Year event returns for a tenth edition, close to Charles de Gaulle airport. Handy if you travel from far away: you land, drop your bag and you are already there. Kizomba, semba, urban kiz and kompa are on the programme.
Lyon New Year Celebration (Lyon, 30 December to 3 January)
Third edition of this Lyon celebration by the Lion Kings Events team, announcing five nights and four days of dancing. Lyon is easy to reach by train or plane, a real plus for a year-end trip.

Kizztalk New Year Weekender (Munich, 30 December to 3 January)
In Munich, the Kizztalk school opens its doors for five days of urban kiz and kizomba: workshops, socials, long nights and a special New Year's Eve. A school atmosphere, more intimate than a big congress.

In Canada, the SBK Ottawa Year-End Latin Festival runs from 28 to 31 December. A Latin festival with kizomba on the programme, to end the year in Ottawa.
How to choose
The venue. All-in-one formats are the most comfortable in winter: no taxi at 3 a.m., no walk in the rain. If the festival is in a separate hall, check the distance to the partner hotels.
The music. Some festivals focus on urban kiz and tarraxo, others on traditional kizomba and semba. Read the room descriptions: that is often where your enjoyment is decided.
The New Year's Eve dinner. Is it included in the pass or sold separately? Is there a dress code? These two questions avoid bad surprises.
Getting home. Trains and flights are busy on 1 and 2 January. Book your return at the same time as your pass.
New Year passes sell fast, especially rooms at the festival hotels. If an event appeals to you, don't wait until December.

No. As at every festival, most dancers come alone or with friends.
